This was my first time hearing your show. It’s good! I’ll have to go back and listen to the archives now.
Anyway, regarding your discussion about the female orgasm. It’s interesting that you have such a visceral reaction to the assertion that all orgasms come from the clitoral tissue. I have the opposite reaction, because historically men have made assumptions about the so-called “vaginal” orgasm. In fact, Freud claimed that the vaginal orgasm was the adult orgasm and the clitoral orgasm is the childish one. So women who were unable to have vaginal orgasms were lesser women according to him — trapped in childishness. Feminists of the 60’s argued against this notion.
i know… i comment from while im at work and my path of logic ran away with the “chapter to the agnostics” bit. I was hoping you wouldnt rip me a new one for that. I was trying to choose sides with you over Ben and get him all fired up, for a “slapfight”. did it work?
religious, or religiously could relate to anything you do on a regular basis then. you go to work religiously. you eat on a religious schedule. i attend mettings religiously, but its not a religion.
And Marina… you couldn’t remember Dan Savage and the Savage Love podcast when there is a link to it on your website…
Hey Marina, on your comments about porn, you might want to look up Long Dong Silver (yes, that is his porn name) who back in the day (late ’70’s early ’80’s) was a black performer who reportedly sported a thick 22″ dick. Also, for your BDSM fix, there are a couple of sites that I look at every now and then but they might be a little tame for you. They are Whippedass.com and wiredpussy.com which feature women dominating other women. Also, there are still films coming out of Southeast Asia which shows stuff that are not for the weak-hearted and what you think are effects is actually real. This includes so-called “snuff” films where after using the girl (96+% of the time) she is killed on camera either as a warning or for shits and giggles. Some girls are forcibly bred on video to shame their families and other things that both defy description and make the hard-core BDSM culture here look ultra right-wing and strait-laced.
As for religion or religiosity in the 12 step program, it depends on how the steps are worded. Any mention of God by name usually denotes a religious bent on the part of the author. A “higher power” reference could mean anything depending on who is reading it. As an example, it could be the Judeo-Christian-Islamic God (the Torah, Talmud, Bible, and Koran all come from the same set of legends), it could be Buddha, it could be a pet, hell, it could even be a sex toy if you are so inclined.
And now for the two words that are mistaken for the same thing when they are not. Atheist means “without theism”. Basically “There is no God. Period. End of story.” Agnostic means “without knowledge”. Basically “Cough up the evidence for me to examine or the math problems for me to solve so I can make an informed decision.” In the case of religion, it would mean the actual scrolls that were used (in the original Aramaic or the Greek translation)as the basis for the Talmud, Torah, Bible, and Koran and actual historical records for the area that were kept by the Roman Empire.

Also… why the 7 minute pause before the last episode started playing.
